Very simple odt generated by abiword. If you attempt to open it with Open Office will result in the an error message complaining of a corrupt file.

The libgsf distributed with Fedora 13 and latest Ubuntu writes corrupt zip files. This shows up when Open Office attempts to open odt or ods files generated by abiword and gnumeric.

The versions of libgsf distributed with Fedora 13 is:

libgsf-devel-1.14.17-1.fc13.i686
libgsf-gnome-1.14.17-1.fc13.i686
libgsf-1.14.17-1.fc13.i686

This is a critical bug as involves data loss on every single odt or ods file generated by abiword and gnumeric.

Very simple ods generated by gnumeric on Fedora 13

Open Office will complain if you attempt to open this document too

Do you have an actual data loss or just a new warning from newer
versions of OOO?

This is very likely a dupe of bug 614968 which was fixed in 1.14.18
Comment 3 Martin Sevior 2010-06-16 01:10:44 UTC
Hi Morten,

No data loss. Just a complaint from OO.o. So far it has successfully recovered the files thrown at it.

It is a dupe.
