To see the error behaviour do the following:

Double click on any account, when the transaction editor tab opens, start to enter details for a transaction. Copy part of the text that you have entered on one line and try to paste it anywhere, e.g. on another line. It will not paste. However, the text will paste in Wordpad or in a program outside of Gnucash.
