GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 619509
"Save a Copy..." dialog should remember the last location
Last modified: 2014-03-25 23:02:09 UTC
It is quite frustrating to save a bunch of documents (for instance, opened from the web browser) to the same (non-"~/Documents") directory because every time a new evince window / document is opened, the save dialog defaults to ~/Documents. It should rather remember the last saved-to location. BTW, epiphany, gedit, and most other GNOME program already that. Thanks.

Hello, I'm going to try to fix this bug. Can I know is somebody else doing it? So, that we will know what is the current progress. Thanks, Khuzayfa
I just tried out the following with evince 3.8.3: - evince http://...file1.pdf - "Save a copy..." - save in ~/Desktop - close - evince http://...file2.pdf - "Save a copy..." opens in ~/Desktop If instead of ~/Desktop another folder is used, the behavior is the same. Cannot reproduce the bug, seems to be fixed.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use. By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME. Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
