Description Angel Abad 2010-05-21 10:22:29 UTC
In Ubuntu Lucid thenailedone reported:

Mxit for Empathy is not working (does not connect).

Pidgin client for Linux works well the difference thus far seems to be that as soon as the client in Pidgin is configured you get another options dialogue where you have to add an anti-bot code (enter the numbers in the image deal) and you must also select your country etc. This does not happen when using Empathy and I think this is the main problem...

Thanks!

There are few bugs here:
a ) We need a spec to support captcha during authentification. The future ServerAuthentication should hopefully solve this
b) telepathy-haze should implement such spec
c) Empathy should use this spec as well

Let's focus on c) in this bug as the other components are not related to Empathy.

So how are we coming along on "C"?

It's blocked on having a spec for this. I opened a spec bug: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32125
Comment 4 Steve Kroon 2012-02-29 14:02:22 UTC
The spec bug at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32125 is now RESOLVED-FIXED, with the new spec at version 0.25.2.
Comment 5 Steve Kroon 2012-03-07 14:48:13 UTC
Is there something else blocking progress on this bug? If not, what is the next step?
Comment 6 Guillaume Desmottes 2012-03-08 08:44:13 UTC
Next step is to implement the new API in telepathy-haze: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31962
