GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 619055
Nautilus keyboard shortcuts are unreliable
Last modified: 2010-05-21 09:43:10 UTC
Keyboard shortcuts like Delete, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X and other ones are unreliable. Sometimes (like 25%) they don't do anything, sometimes they do, it seems to be more reproducable when I move the mouse while or shortly before pressing the keys. It's a great usability issue for me as I always use shortcuts to delete, cut, copy and paste files. Steps to reproduce: Create many files (do "seq -f 'ExtraFile%g' 1 100 | xargs touch" in terminal) and try to delete them one-by-one by selecting each file by mouse and using Delete key to delete it.
It's not distro specific, have it on ArchLinux, Ubuntu 10.04 and bugs have been filed for 9.04 and 9.10. Also, https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=137455 bugs describes the same but for and old GNOME version.
