GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 617609
Evolution 2.30.1 can not show the Full Name if full name contains a non-ascii character
Last modified: 2010-10-01 14:21:57 UTC
Evolution 2.30.1, e-d-s 2.30.1, gtk 2.20.1 My Full Name is: *H. İbrahim Güngör* Attention to the İ character -a Turkish character, the uppercase of i- after the shortened first name. If I use as it is, The receiver sees something like this: *H.* (Only the shortened first name appears.) If i use this: *H. Ibrahim Güngör*, it's OK. My full name can be received as is. If use this: *H.İbrahim Güngör*, no space between first and second name, it is OK again, the receiver sees as is.
Hi, receiver of what exactly? An Email? A forwarded contact card? Can you please provide exact steps, click by click? Also see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/page.cgi?id=bug-writing.html Thanks a lot!

Change that according to the first message i wrote, and send an e-mail to an address and see the "From" information and wrong Full Name. I've written the test case above. Receiver is the person whom you sent the mail. > > Thanks a lot!
Thanks for a bug report. What is the software the receiver is reading the massage in, please? Could you also post here the "From:" header of the sent mail (in your Sent folder), please? (Feel free to change the email address to something different.) I believe it's not that 'I', but the dot in the name. There is a bug #347520 which is about it.

Thanks for the update. So Evolution incorrectly escaped it (quoted) when sending. It believe it's part of bug #347520, thus I'm marking this as a duplicate of it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 347520 ***
