Description Angel Abad 2010-04-16 21:12:38 UTC
In Ubuntu Lucid iroli reported:

I have a dual monitor setup.

1) start gnome terminal
2) Press F11 to go to fullscreen mode
3) create a new tab
4) switch between the tabs (to the new one and back)

i've seen the following behaviour:
when switching twice the first time the window changes the monitors (from left to right)
next switching the window moves to the next virtual workspace
it eventually reappears on the first workspace where it all started.

another time the tabs was detached and two gnome termnial windows where visible.

Thanks!

Which window manager is that with? Please try if this happens when using metacity, with compositing disabled (gconf key /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager => false).
Comment 2 Roland Lezuo 2010-04-22 19:04:47 UTC
Yes it is with metacity.
/apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager is disabled (false)

but: I cannot reproduce it right now, so considered it invalid. I'll reopen when I encounter it again.

Thanks!

Okay, I encountered it again. In addition you need to increase the font size in one tab:

1) start gnome terminal
2) Press F11 to go to fullscreen mode
2.5) Press "ctrl +" a few times (e.g. 6 times)
3) create a new tab
4) switch between the tabs (to the new one and back)

Reopening as per last comment.
Comment 5 Roland Lezuo 2011-04-17 09:31:27 UTC
Still there in 2.32.1 (ubuntu natty - beta)
Comment 6 Christian Persch 2011-11-25 21:19:56 UTC
Is this still reproducible in gnome-terminal 3.2.x ?
Comment 7 Roland Lezuo 2011-11-25 22:47:03 UTC
I could not reproduce it in 3.0.1.
