GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 613826
EXIF Data from UFraw TIF Files
Last modified: 2010-03-24 19:31:37 UTC
I'm running UFraw 0.17 and Gimp 2.6.8 under Linux. When using UFraw in standalone mode and saving to a JPG or TIF file, a bunch of EXIF data gets carried over. When I open the resulting TIF file in Gimp, I get the following error message: "/home/gore/Desktop/GORE6098.tif: invalid TIFF directory; tags are not sorted in ascending order Message repeated once." All my EXIF data gets lost. This does not happen when I save to a JPG file and then try to open that JPG file in Gimp. I am unsure if this is an issue with UFraw or Gimp. Opening up the TIF file in other applications does not give me the same issue.
Created attachment 156998 [details] TIF file generated by UFraw 0.17 Here's an example TIF file generated by UFraw that loses all its EXIF data once it's opened in Gimp.
The TIFF import plug-in doesn't support Exif data. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 56443 ***
