GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 612797
black frame flashing in rendered files or live playback between some clips
Last modified: 2013-10-04 21:16:34 UTC
Created attachment 156062 [details] sample xptv project file Bug #609792 strikes back with another variant. Actually I think it's been there all along but masked by the other bug. A black frame sometimes appears between some clips (snapped together, not crossfaded or anything). This might be project-specific, so attaching a project file in case there's something wrong in it.

As of today with gst jhbuild and pitivi git, the attachment project in bug #609792 (http://jeff.ecchi.ca/public/pitivi-transition-black-frame.tar) has the following symptoms: - no problems on playback - rendered output file has a black frame right after the transition
This is happening for me *with* crossfading
This seems to depend on the position of the clips relative to each other. By crossfading two clips like so (X is the crossfade): [A clip |X| B clip ] I noticed that if I drag B towards A for the "in" point of B to reach a particular position in A, I get the black frame... but then if I change a little bit the length of the crossfade (by dragging B to the right), then no problem. It's as if it was having a problem with framerates not clamping to each other or something.
Haven't seen this anymore in the GES series. Hopefully gone for good.
