GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 612002
Ctrl+W closes tab/window without prompting to save changes
Last modified: 2010-03-08 10:36:56 UTC
If you type some text into a text field and (maybe accidently) hit ctrl-w, the tab gets closed immediately and the text is lost. The former behaviour [gecko backend] was that a confirm dialog was shown if edited text existed, preventing unintentional data loss.
