Description Victor Vargas 2010-03-03 12:55:58 UTC
This report was originally filed at (wishlist one):
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/525227

While i like totem, i would wish it doesn't popup any message windows at all.

Please just add a status bar top/bottom/in-screen (user-setting) and show any error messages in that.
If it's fatal, give the bar a red background.

Right now, some videos (sometimes when skipping with mousewheel) get regular messages about nonfatal errors in the stream.
It's annoying that this is done so intrusively.

Maybe we should use the new GtkInfoBar for that. That would be a yellow bar at the top of the video, just like the "Remember my password?" notification of Firefox.

Info bar is certainly a good idea. Robin, want to give it a try (at least, in the mockup kind of sense)?

Note that this is a dupe bug report.
