GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 61
GTCD won't pull in the CD tray
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: gtcd (gnome-media?) Version: Gnome gtcd 0.99.5 I've got a generic ATAPI cdrom drive, and gtcd often refuses to pull the tray back in. The log message is: ATAPI device hdb: Error: Not ready -- (Sense key=0x02) Medium removal prevented -- (asc=0x53, ascq=0x02) The failed "Start Stop Unit" packet command was: "1b 00 00 00 03 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 " gtcd also appears to prevent me from using the eject button on my cdrom drive itself to pull the tray back in - I have to close gtcd, close the drive, and then restart gtcd. Very annoying, in an otherwise fine looking program. As a reference point, xplaycd on this machine does not have this problem. :) -- Ian Peters ``Never attribute to malice what can be explained ipeters@acm.org by stupidity'' -- Hanlon's Razor ------- Additional Comments From kmaraas@online.no 2000-08-08 15:50:06 ---- Subject: Still there? I wonder if we could close the oldest bug in the bts, or is this problem still there? http://bugs.gnome.org/db/61/61.html Cheers Kjartan Maraas ------- Bug moved to this database by debbugs-export@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-01-28 11:20 ------- This bug was previously known as bug 61 at http://bugs.gnome.org/ http://bugs.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61 Originally filed under the gnome-media product and general component. this doesn't happen to me (generic CD drive) Ian, are you still around ? Could you please test with a recent kernel and gtcd and close this bug ?
In an effort to help clean the bugzilla, I'm closing all unconfirmed bugs more than 2 years old. If you feel your bug is still relevant, please open a new bug against the newest possible version of GNOME. Sorry to do this in such an arbitrary manner but it will substantially assist developers and bug-hunters in filing and dealing with new bugs as they come in. Please write to me directly at louie@ximian.com if you wish to discuss this further, or are a developer with questions and concerns. Thanks! Filter on 'luis doing GNOME2 work' if you want to ignore all of these.
