Description Ben LaHaise 2001-09-23 03:40:38 UTC
Redraws in gnome-terminal over a network connection are extremely slow.
This is easily produced by using a slow network connection, or enabling a
background image. On a normal desktop, this can also be reproduced by
using opaque window movement and watching the clunky redraw in a
gnome-terminal session. This behaviour appears to be present in all
versions of gnome-terminal.

If someone sends me a patch that fixes this (properly) by Friday,
I'll send them $500.
Comment 2 Kjartan Maraas 2002-08-17 12:08:28 UTC
I guess this is still a problem with gnome 2.0.x
Comment 3 David Kennedy 2002-11-20 21:46:32 UTC
bug 96879 is related, but doesn't address the issue of network usage.
Comment 4 Luis Villa 2003-02-09 02:38:18 UTC
Because of the release of GNOME 2.0 and 2.2, and the lack of interest in
maintainership of GNOME 1.4, the gnome-core product is being closed. If y0u feel
your bug is still of relevance to GNOME 2, please reopen it and refile it
against a more appropriate component. Thanks...

Argh. Apologies for the double spam. Actually closing this time.
