banshee log

Hello,
I am having problems using Sony Walkman device following upgrade to 9.10. I am running 9.10 64bit & I use Banshee 1.6 Beta 2 (1.5.1).

When I run mtp-detect I get the following:
Quote:
sudo mtp-detect
libmtp version: 0.3.7

Listing raw device(s)
Found 1 device(s):
Sony: Walkman NWZ-B135 (054c:036e) @ bus 0, dev 10
Attempting to connect device(s)
PTP_ERROR_IO: Trying again after re-initializing USB interface
LIBMTP PANIC: Could not open session! (Return code 767)
Try to reset the device.
Unable to open raw device 0
OK.
banshee log shows:

Quote:
PTP_ERROR_IO: Trying again after re-initializing USB interface
LIBMTP PANIC: Could not open session! (Return code 767)
Try to reset the device.

You set the Banshee version to 1.5.3, but in the description you say you're using 1.5.1... Have you tested with 1.5.3? If not, it might be worth a shot. Also, I'm assuming other Linux media players aren't having the same problem with your Walkman...?

I have tested with 1.5.3 and it is the same results. I haven't tried with any other Linux media players.. would like to get this working with Banshee...

This is a libmtp issue, if libmtp decides to hang there's nothing banshee can do about it. Also if mtp-detect fails when you run as a normal user (not sudo), then banshee will not be able to access the device either.

The odds are an upgraded libmtp will fix your issue.
