Description Pedro Villavicencio 2010-01-12 19:42:47 UTC
this report has been filed here:

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/487948

"1) Video windows don't remember their size or position. Not between restarts. Not between viewing different videos.

2) When resizing the video window, it doesn't maintain aspect ratio.

I'd love for Rythmbox to be my go-to for pod-casts and video-casts, these important features are missing.

Thanks for the awesome work!"

Rhythmbox only plays video because I can't be bothered making it not do so.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for creating Rythmbox.

Ubuntu is using Rythmbox as the default podcast player for audio and video.

It would really help linux on the desktop if video podcasts were awesome.

IMHO, if these two things were fixed: aspect ratio resizing, and remembering the window position, Rythmbox would be the awesome!

Thanks again,

Mike

It's an accident that it works at all at the moment. There would be a lot of work involved in making rhythmbox usable for video playback, and none of the regular developers seem to have the time or motivation to do it.
