GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 602560
gspawn failed to execute external command
Last modified: 2013-02-05 21:43:49 UTC
I try to preview a webpage in browser and I have change the command in preference and ensure it has no spaces in path. But it still failed. gspawn-win32-helper.exe seems looking for sh.exe and then exited.
oh its the same for 1.3.7 unstable
the issue with sh.exe is fixed in 2.0.0-rc1, can you see if it works now?
In 2.0.0-rc1, it freeze Bluefish immediately. I can't even track what it looking for using filemon like previous version.. I have add firefox.exe inside PATH enviroment but no good.
what does the external command preference you are using look like?
for Firefox fullpath: C:/programs/mozilla/firefox/firefox.exe "%p" C:\\programs\\mozilla\\firefox\\firefox.exe "%p" using PATH: firefox.exe "%p" or argumentless firefox.exe all didn't even fire up a blank firefox (immediately freeze). Filemon doesn't even detect anyfile that Bluefish read/open/write right after previewing
Can you see something via procmon or procexp (not sure - that one that replaces filemon and regmon) and attach the log to this report? I will check myself asap.
Created attachment 151976 [details] log during startup, opening and previewing
BTW I created C:\Users\qwerty\Locals\Temp\bluefish-qwerty-0\WinSta0 because bluefish expecting it to be exist. Just to make sure whether it's related or not (like creating tempfile for previewing, maybe) but it seems unrelated.
Reopening as the requested information has been provided.
In 2.0.1 most of the external commands work on windows. Can you test latest svn or 2.0.1-rc1?
Where is those 2.0.1 binary? I can't find it at sourceforge neither I know how to build it with MSYS... Sorry for the late answer btw
go to the bluefish website, go to download, choose a mirror, go to binaries go to win32 Olivier
