GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 602392
Fallback to http:// until webkit supports ftp://
Last modified: 2016-09-12 01:16:35 UTC
An important regression I am suffering since webkit switch is lots of ftp:// urls no longer working (some of them were present on my bookmarks, others are hit from web links...) I think that, until ftp:// support is added, epiphany could simply fallback to http://, since a lot of mirrors also provide their services using http protocol. For example, if a link points to "ftp://ftp.free.fr", epiphany could simply "drop" "ftp://", as going to "ftp.free.fr" would automatically redirect to "http://ftp.free.fr" Thanks a lot
Confirmed, this is a regression.
