Hi. I dist-upgraded my Ubuntu from Jaunty to Karmic last week, I am less than pleased with the new Epiphany 2.28 browser.

Below are some of the beef I have:

There should be 'Open link in new tab' and 'Copy image address' options on the right-click menu when clicking on any a webpage.

There also seems to be a regression with the new webkit-powered epiphany over the old gecko one found in GNOME 2.26 and versions prior to that in that file associations seem not be recognized e.g. in Epiphany 2.28, when I select 'Save Image As' option from the right-click menu to save an image (can be of any format such as jpg or png), the pop-up 'Download this file?' dialog box shows : "File Type: "Unknown.", "You have no application able to open “xyz.jpg”. You can download it instead." There is also this rather irritating automatic firing up of nautilus showing the contents of the directory where I have just saved the image file to. Can this be disabled? It is quite an annoyance. It reminds me of the spatial nautilus madness.

 affects ubuntu/epiphany-browser

These problems are already fixed in the 2.29.x series.
Comment 2 Rajasun 2009-11-09 09:33:13 UTC
Does this mean the fixes won't be backported to 2.28.1 or 2.28.2 and that unless I run GNOME unstable I won't be able to see the fix? Many thanks for the fix and update though Kov.
