GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 600380
webkit epiphany doesn't show intelligent bookmarks in contestual menu any more
Last modified: 2010-12-15 19:42:30 UTC
Gecko epiphany had the possibility to select a text in the page, and then with right-click contestual menu you could access intelligent bookmarks. That has disappeard in webkit epiphany.
Are you sure you have enabled the Smart Bookmarks extension? This could also simply follow from bug 562617, which should be fixed in 2.29.x. Could you verify this please?
I'm using ubuntu (karmic), I have epiphany-extensions installed, but I can't see any "smart bookmars" extension in Tools -> Extensions any more
Installing epiphany-extensions is not enough, you should enable the Smart bookmarks extension in the extension manager. Also, you didn't answer the question whether the problem still exists in Epiphany 2.29.1 (development version). Can you test that, please?
Although I installed epiphany-extensions package, epiphany's Extension Manager doesn't show any Smart Bookmarks extensions to select. I can't test 2.29.1
Still NEEDINFO until someone confirms with 2.29.
still present in 2.30.2. Still no smart bookmarks checkbox in Tools -> Extensione
concerning the way searches are handled with Epiphany : For the record there are 2 extensions which really increase my productivity on Firefox and which make user life really simpler : Context Search (https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/240 - demo at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/images/p/1127/ and Add to Search Bar ( https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/3682 - demo at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/images/p/26482/1223168575 ) I think that bug report is about the 1st one Please bring that functionality back in Epiphany it's very useful (i'm using Epiphany 2.30.2 (from that PPA https://launchpad.net/~webkit-team/+archive/epiphany ) on Ubuntu Lucid and the functionality is indeed missing) The 2nd one is Bug 336274
Fixed this in e-e master.
