GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 598953
banshee ate my music collection
Last modified: 2009-10-19 16:34:32 UTC
Upgraded to Ubuntu Karmic. No tunes in my "Music" folder to start with. Plugged in my iAudio DAP, with about 3300 songs on it. Checked "Automatically sync the device" in the Sync Preferences screen. Syncing tried to make my iAudio look like my "Music" folder. Which is to say, it tried to delete all of my music from my iAudio. It got through 5% before I noticed what was happening and stopped it. Sure, there's a little "0 to add, 3119 to remove" label on the screen, but: 1) I'd like a non-destructive sync. Maybe sync my Music folder with the iAudio rather than the reverse in this situation 2) Or, if it's going to wipe my DAP, to at least give me a more prominent warning
From what I can tell, Bug 504492 is basically this bug with the word "iPod" instead of "iAudio." I'm going to mark this one as a duplicate and change that one to be less iPod-specific. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 504492 ***
That looks about right, Michael. Thanks.
