Description amin faiz 2009-09-29 06:39:17 UTC
first go to any folder with various files/folders in it using nautilus. suppose i want to select multiple files/folders using keyboard cursor keys. if i select a file and then press CTRL + cursor keys to navigate to another file/folder to select i would expect a selection box or marker (or some sort of visual cue) to follow my movement using cursor keys so that i can select more desired file/folder by pressing SPACEBAR.

but no such cue appears, which makes selecting multiple files/folder difficult. the selection works when SPACEBAR is pressed, but you have to guess which file/folder will be selected upon pressing the SPACEBAR key.

this problem only occurs while nautilus is in ICON and COMPACT view mode. in LIST view mode a selection marker (faint orange color) does appear while moving using cursor keys.

selecting single file/folder works, the marker is gone only in additional file/folder selection process using keyboard.

Thanks for the bug report. There is a visual indication of which file is currently focused - a dotted box around the file name. It's not the nicest or most obvious marker, but it's there! I'm closing this as not a bug.
