[qtdemux] parse support for clean aperture
Last modified: 2018-11-03 14:40:05 UTC
The mov file in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=596319 has clean aperture data too. It doesn't seem to be correctly parsed by qtdemux. Extract of qtdump: clean aperture (clap) cleanApertureWidthN 41472 cleanApertureWidthD 59 cleanApertureHeightN 576 cleanApertureHeightD 1 horizOffN 0 horizOffD 1 vertOffN 0 vertOffD 1
Aaaahh! The 54:59 pixel aspect ratio strikes again! More seriously, we don't handle clean apertures at all in GStreamer, sadly. Since they're really only used in SD video, I recommend doing a manual videocrop to 704 width and videoscale to 640x480 (NTSC) or 768x576 (PAL) before you do any additional format conversion or encoding.
Couldn't this be solved by providing crop meta (in the same way it needs to be done in bug #694068 ) ?
