Steps to reproduce:
load a file and then click on either ->Colors -> Threshold or ->Colors ->Levels . or ->Tools->Color Tools -> Threshold or ->Tools->Color Tools ->Levels (possibly other color tools as well, I didn't try them all).  Gimp then crashes.  GIMP also crashes if you go through any of these key commands first then click on open file.
