Description Emilio Pozuelo Monfort 2009-07-15 20:53:30 UTC
[ Forwarded from http://bugs.debian.org/534469 ]

"Currently, cheese saves all its videos in Ogg Theora/Vorbis. Although
this is a terrific default, it would be nice to have the ability to
change this to something else. For example, Ogg Theora/Vorbis is not a
good choice for uploading to YouTube."

Since I don't know how to file a bug reports against Youtube, I'm forwarding this to cheese to allow configuring the video format :)

we had a similar discussion some days ago, mostly related to the poor performance on netbooks while doing recording. as you can read on http://www.nabble.com/Cheese%2C-netbooks-and-resource-hungry-encoders-td24351999.html there does not seem to be a superior format out there. however i agree with you, that different video formats would be great for converting stuff.

do you want to come up with a patch?
