Description Kai Lüke 2009-07-09 16:13:34 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I have a podcast, that has added much content at once and also some alter dated contents which should appear before the last entries. This happened some times and I didn't notice that some files missed and were not showed. To solve the problem, I had to delete the podcast and add it again. After that I clicked on all entries and the missing ones were downloaded. But this should not be so…

I think the strategy of updating and comparing podcast-information has to be changed. The generated podcast-list is not near enough to the real podcast-feed and can differ to hard.

Steps to reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Does this happen every time?

How is this a reasonable thing for a podcast to do? Why should we support it?
Comment 2 Kai Lüke 2009-07-11 13:22:10 UTC
At first, sorry, I meant older and not alter in the first line.

My problem was, that rhythmbox didn't show all podcast entries that were new. I heard RadioTux which added some earlier dated interviews from the LinuxTag on the podcast. But podcasts are sorted by date and so the interviews, which have a date before the last normal weekly news which have been already downloaded, were ignored. So I think, that all content from the podcast-feed should be showed in rhythmbox.

I *think* I am having this same problem. The issue is that for some podcast feeds Rhythmbox does not properly detect and download new episodes. The ones I have trouble with in particular are feeds from the ITConversations network, such as http://rss.conversationsnetwork.org/series/innovators.xml

When first subscribing to these feeds Ryhthmbox will fetch and download episodes as expected, but new episodes that appear do not show up in rhythmbox. The only way to get them is to remove the podcast subscription and resubscribe.

BTW, this bug was also submitted over on launchpad a few months earlier: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/377189

I am having the same issue. I have added several podcasts that I added from twit.tv and they all have to be deleted and re-added frequently to get them to update. I am using Ubuntu 9.10 and Rythmbox 0.12.5.

I have the same problem with this podcast: http://radiouniverso.org/feeds/rss.xml , but this other RSS feed is working fine: http://www.interlingua.com/radio/feed . I'm using ubuntu 9.10 and Rhythmbox 0.12.5 too. I have to delete and re-add the podcast in order to update it.
