Description James Westby 2009-06-24 22:47:55 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Hi,

I am testing banshee 1.5.0 on Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha.

The video window that can appear has no title set, and it took me
a long while to work it what was showing the window (I had a podcast
paused when I found it, so I just had a static image in an untitled
window).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Play a video track

Actual results:
The video window is displayed as "Untitled Window" in the GNOME task list
xwininfo confirms that the window has no title set.

Expected results:
I would expect the window to at least have "Banshee" as the title, if not
the track name and artist.

Does this happen every time?
Yes

The real problem here is that video are not supposed to play in a new window, they should play in the "Now Playing" source.
This might be the same problem as in bug #548635.

How exactly are you starting your video ?
Comment 2 James Westby 2009-06-25 17:29:14 UTC
Hi,

The first time I was playing a podcast which had a video
track. Testing the bug I then just used "Open Location" to
play a video .ogg from my hard drive, both used the window.

Thanks,

James

The video window you're seeing is a bug; you shouldn't be seeing it; that is why it has no title. I think there is a bug open for that already, but I'm not finding it atm.
