Description dan 2009-06-24 08:09:29 UTC
I have a smb network share mounted in the places menu via the connect to server wizard. If i insert a blank cd and open it and then drag files from the network share into the cd window in order to burn them I get 'Operation not supported in backend'. This message is meaningless. If i try the same thing with brassero it segfualts.

This process works fine if instead I go into home, show hidden files and then drag files from the .gvfs folder.

It's worth noting that the drag and drop from a network share to the cd will work fine on a windows xp box - it copies the files to a temp directory on the local disk and then burns them.

I view this as either a code bug where drag and drop burning should work or a usability issue where at the very least the error message should say something like 'unable to burn files from a network share please copy them to a local drive first'

nautilus-cd-burner has been replaced by Brasero in the GNOME 2.26 release. If your bug still applies to Brasero, please feel free to re-open the bug, and reassign it to brasero itself.
