Description Stefan Sauer (gstreamer, gtkdoc dev) 2009-05-12 18:17:05 UTC
It would be nice to always have an implicit preset for each of the sources. Assume they are
 2 clips 640x480@30fps (movie001.avi,movie003.avi)
 1 clip 320x240@25fps (movie002.avi)
That is three clips, but you would offer just two presets (as two have the same format). Presets could be separated for regular presets (dvd,...) with a separator line.

Not sure about sorting them. They could be sorted by usage (number of clips already in that format) or by time usage (like one 1h HD video and 3 qcif clips, then the hd video is first).

That helps the user not needing to reenter the details.

If I understood the core of this issue correctly, this is a duplicate of bug #622079 (and to some extent, the newly implemented presets feature). Correct me if I am wrong.

you mean bug #622079 is a duplicate of this much older ticket :) Bug yes, both tickets are about the same feature.
