GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 580441
MBOX Importing tools do not work
Last modified: 2009-04-27 17:12:42 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have tried to import several different MBOX files, all of which result in 1 email importing -- subject '?' with nothing else in it. I have tried importing the same MBOX files into Thunderbird and others and they work fine. Steps to reproduce: 1. File, Import, up to selecting a file 2. Select an MBOX file and import it to specified folder 3. Folder contains only 1 email '?' Actual results: Does not import emails. Expected results: Would expect email to import. Does this happen every time? Yes -- also on other machines running different versions of Linux, but same versions of Evolution. Other information: Have also tried setting up an MBOX account (as a new account) with the path for all the files listed -- end up with a 'no such table' error and emails still do not import.
Probably means something's wrong or unusual about the files you're trying to import. Since the mbox format is not standardized there's all sorts of weird variations out there. Can you please post samples?
Also, please correct the version field, as 2.2 is ancient and no longer supported. Did you mean 2.22?

Ah, Apple-style newlines. See bug #567009 for a workaround. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 567009 ***
