Description Nicolò Chieffo 2009-04-27 12:33:40 UTC
the steps to reproduce this bug are simple
- open a text file
- select one word
- move the mouse where you want to paste
- click to move the text cursor
- click the middle button
expected result: the previously copied word should be pasted.
current result: nothing happens

I've investigated and it seems that the copy buffer is cleared whenever you move the text cursor: this means that if you want to paste you have to click the middle mouse button WHILE THE TEXT TO COPY IS STILL SELECTED.

this issue appears on every app which uses a gtk text view (single line or multi line).
Other non-gtk apps (or gtk apps in portions where text boxes are not used) such as firefox, gnome-terminal, vlc, nautilus (when renaming files) are not affected.

I don't know it only GtkTextView is affected
