GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 579726
PyGTK detection doesn't work
Last modified: 2009-04-22 08:08:14 UTC
Please describe the problem: When installing pygtk from an egg, the gimp windows installer does not detect pygtk Steps to reproduce: 1. Install gtk 2. Install pygtk from egg 3. Run gimp installer and choose 'customise' python-gimp option is greyed out. If the steps are repeated but a folder 'gtk-2.0' is created in the Python-Install-Directory\Lib\site-packages then the option is not greyed out and installation is successful (+ PyFu works ok) Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: The detection is detailed here https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4969570 On my system the file to check for is pygtk-2.12.1-py2.5-win32.egg Adding a check for similarly named eggs (which can be files or directories would probably solve this for a lot of people). Possibly a lot of the people having problems here - http://www.gimptalk.com/forum/python-and-gimp-t25587.html are related
