GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 578487
please choose another separator than '/' between wind direction and velocity
Last modified: 2020-11-06 20:20:36 UTC
Hi, in the mouse-over area of the weather-applet the wind direction and velocity are reported. Both values are separated by a slash '/', which looks ugly, because there is already a slash in the velocity unit 'm/s'. This results in something like "South to Southwest /3,6 m/s". For the sake of consistency, please change the slash into a comma (as is used to separate the real temperature from the windchill factor) or into a semicolon. The separator between sunrise and sunset should be changed to a comma or semicolon as well. Of course this request is about personal perception, but I believe a slash character in a user-interface is half-assed practice. ;) Cheers, Fabian Other information:
Created attachment 140373 [details] [review] Chose another separator than '/' between sunrise and sunset I have created one patch against libgweather and one against gnome-panel that together fix this issue. For gnome-panel the translations would have to be adapted, too. Cheers, Fabian
