GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 57118
Cut-and-paste problem under KDE
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Cut and paste doesn't work :-( and you can't undo either. To reproduce select a cell or a range of cells. Click Cut. Text you selected will disappear after a second and will be gone forever. Paste will not paste anything. Clicking Undo doesn't bring the text back :-(. 0.67 is Ximian's version downloaded through Red Carpet.
Neither I nor the Ximian testers can replicate this. Sorry.
I am running KDE 2.2alpha1 when I am experiencing this problem. If I log in to Ximian GNOME on the same machine and run Gnumeric and do Cut and Paste the problem doesn't appear. What is even more peculiar is that the previous version of Gnumeric ie. 0.65.ximian did work under KDE 2.2alpha1. Weird. Vladimir
Reopening. This looks quite weird to us.
Have you changed your 'Klipper' settings ?
I have not changed the Klipper settings. Today however I have been playing with KDE 2.1.1 that comes with the Redhat 7.1 distribution and I get the same kind of behavior. If I click on the Klipper icon Klipper will show what I just cut in its clipboard "history" but I still can't paste. If I close Klipper I can cut and paste normally and as soon as I start it again I have problems :-(. I have also reinstalled gnumeric 0.61 that comes with RH 7.1 and even 0.61 is affected when Klipper is running.
This should be fixed in 0.68. We now only implement cut behaviors for gnumeric -> gnumeric transfers. When cutting and pasting into another app we leave the content in place.
