Description Stephane Gregoire 2009-01-30 10:32:27 UTC
Please describe the problem:
On Ubuntu 8.10
The gnome Session doesn't work and today I read the auth.log
And I found problems about gnome-keyring-daemon which may the reason that gnome-session doesn't work.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Save programs on Gnome-Session
2. reboot
3. no programs saved on gnome-sessions starting

Actual results:
No programs saved on gnome-sessions starting

Expected results:
the programs saved on gnome-sessions should start

Does this happen every time?
yes at every boot (the hibernate is working so I use hibernation)

Description-fr: PAM module to unlock the GNOME keyring upon login
gnome-keyring (porte-clés de GNOME) est un démon de session, similaire à ssh-agent. Les autres applications peuvent l'utiliser pour stocker des mots de passe et autres informations sensibles.
 .
This package contains a PAM module that will automatically unlock the keyrings using your login password, making gnome-keyring usage transparent without losing its security benefits.
 .
When installed, this module will automatically be used by GDM and gnome-screensaver to unlock your keyrings when logging in and when unlocking the screen saver.

Thanks for reporting this bug.

This bug was caused by a change that was included in Ubuntu after gnome-keyring 2.24.0 was released.

However gnome-keyring has been fixed to work better with these changes. The fix is present in 2.25.2 and later versions of gnome-keyring.

I'm not sure that this is preventing gnome-session saving of open applications from working though.
