Description Hendrik Maryns 2009-01-28 12:30:00 UTC
You want to browse through a document on the screen. Page boundaries do not really make sense on a screen. Therefore, the default should be continuous mode.

Other information:
If you do not agree, then at least provide some shortcut (both button and key combo) to switch it.
Comment 1 Carlos Garcia Campos 2009-01-28 12:35:39 UTC
Yes, continuous is already the default option indeed.
Comment 2 Pacho Ramos 2009-10-15 16:59:46 UTC
I have also hit this one, I don't know why, from time to time, I need to manually recheck "Continuous" option as evince "magically" switches to disable it from time to time :-/

(this is with evince 2.26)
Comment 3 Carlos Garcia Campos 2009-10-15 17:06:53 UTC
That's because evince takes the last used settings as the default ones for new documents. I never liked such behaviour either, and it's currently disabled due to the metadata migration. Iit's actually a regression, I don't know whether it's worth to re-enable it or not, though. See discussion on bug #586841

Thanks for the info
Comment 5 Emmanuel Fleury 2009-10-28 21:53:22 UTC
Isn't this issue fixed ?
Comment 6 Carlos Garcia Campos 2009-10-29 08:36:54 UTC
Well, it depends, if we agree we don't want to rememeber last settings to be used as default for new documents, then yes, it's fixed.
Comment 7 Emmanuel Fleury 2009-11-15 00:04:01 UTC
This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Thank you for your bug report.
