GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 569450
Continuous mode should be on by default
Last modified: 2009-11-15 00:04:01 UTC
You want to browse through a document on the screen. Page boundaries do not really make sense on a screen. Therefore, the default should be continuous mode. Other information: If you do not agree, then at least provide some shortcut (both button and key combo) to switch it.
Yes, continuous is already the default option indeed.
I have also hit this one, I don't know why, from time to time, I need to manually recheck "Continuous" option as evince "magically" switches to disable it from time to time :-/ (this is with evince 2.26)
That's because evince takes the last used settings as the default ones for new documents. I never liked such behaviour either, and it's currently disabled due to the metadata migration. Iit's actually a regression, I don't know whether it's worth to re-enable it or not, though. See discussion on bug #586841
Thanks for the info
Isn't this issue fixed ?
Well, it depends, if we agree we don't want to rememeber last settings to be used as default for new documents, then yes, it's fixed.
This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Thank you for your bug report.
