Description foerdi 2009-01-22 07:59:20 UTC
Please describe the problem:
With filtering mails from different accounts to different subfolders of Inbox-folder new e-Mails are not displayed when they are in subfolders.

Only Inbox-Folder throws new-mail-notification to systray, but subfolders should also do - otherwise the filters are useless - User wants to be notified to EVERY new mail

Steps to reproduce:
1. setup subfolder to inbox + setup filter mail
2. send yourself mail that will NOT be filtered -> new-mail-notify / send yourself a filter-mail -> NO new-mail-notify
3. try it

Actual results:

Expected results:
new-mail-notify for every mail

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
I am waiting for this since some Gnome releases... Please include this in the next release - I guess it should not be a big thing for you to implement this

-1 until we have per-account notification options.

In my case, this would be fine for my home account since I only receive a few non-spam emails a day. But on my work account I'm subscribed to 30+ mailing lists and don't want to be notified every time someone posts a message.

This might be better implemented as a filter action:

If incoming mail satisfies my conditions, then:

   - Issue notification (using my notification preferences)

   - Move mail to folder X

Hrm. I committed a fix for bug #534369, where this behaviour changes. Note there was no notification in 2.30 due to a bug. I'm marking this as a duplicate, because it changes behaviour as reporter requested. Note you can always check "For Inbox only" in Edit->Plugins->Mail Notification->Configure tab, to not be notified on subfolders (and vice versa, when you want to be notified on every new email).
