Please describe the problem:
Using LabTec Webcam (logitech type I believe) the Cheese system knows about the webcam but cannot capture any video with it. luvcview is able to display pictures with it.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Using cheese with Labtec webcam		
2. 
3. 


Actual results:
Get TV type test pattern

Expected results:
picture from webcam

Does this happen every time?

Which distribution are you using? I guess Ubuntu Intrepid...
If so you should be able to get cheese working properly upgrading kernel and libv4l from intrepid-proposed repository.
If you are using another distribution there is some good chance that you could fix it upgrading libv4l and uvcvideo using your distribution package manager.
Marking as duplicate, reopen if the proposed solution does not work.
