GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 567570
Add selection of first day of the week to the clock settings
Last modified: 2009-02-20 16:59:09 UTC
People often run their GNOME using en_US.UTF-8 (the new POSIX locale basically as UTF-8 is now favored) as their locale even if they live in a country which would have a locale of its own. There are various reasons for that, but basically changing the locale to get the "correct" first day of the week for the calendar is not an option for all of us. The default first day of the week naturally should still come from the locale (LC_TIME), but it would be really great if the user could change the first day of the week in the settings. It should be quite easy to implement.
I second this request. I live in Australia and use en_AU as my locale, however I would prefer if the week would start on Monday, that's what I'm used to.

It should be quite easy to implement. Not really easy since GTK+ has removed this feature. Well-known duplicate, fwiw. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 346238 ***
