GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 567089
Crash in composer changing signature without From set
Last modified: 2009-07-20 04:30:48 UTC
What were you doing when the application crashed? I started evolution (I don't have my default email account enabled because it doesn't work today). I push ctrl+n, then I went on signature tab and press down button. ====== Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Could you please install some debugging packages [1], start the application as normal, and reproduce the crash, if possible? Once bug-buddy pops up, you can find the stacktrace in the Details, now containing way more information. Please copy that stacktrace and paste it as a comment here. Thanks in advance! [1] debugging packages for evolution, evolution-data-server, evolution-exchange, gtkhtml, gtk, glib, libsoup, gnome-vfs, libgnome, orbit2 and libgnomeui (as far as those packages are provided by your distribution). oh..i really don't know why after installing all these debug info rpms, traces are missing symbols. Is it always reproducible ? If yes, we can request Matthew to look into it.
yes, you should have to: 1) disable your default account 2) create a new mail (in the from you should have a blank selection) 3) click on signature and choose one. Tell me if it's work. Thanks Luca

Milan, what do you feel - it's a regression of bug 554326 or a separate one
This seems as a new thing to me.
Created attachment 128302 [details] [review] proposed evo patch foe evolution; it crashes to me only when I select autogenerated signature, otherwise it doesn't crash. This fix prevents a crash, the autogenerated behaves as None in this particular case.
Commit it, but don't close the bug for now. Stable/trunk.
Committed to trunk. Committed revision 37251. Committed to gnome-2-24. Committed revision 37252.
What about this bug?
Patch had been committed. If you can confirm the fix, we would close the bug, thanks.
For me is fixed :)
Please feel free to reopen the bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME 2.26.3 or later, thanks.
