GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 565768
Evolution Message Filters not correctly finding IMAP folders.
Last modified: 2009-05-26 13:06:16 UTC
Please describe the problem: When a message filter is created to move an IMAP email messages bases on a user trigger the message filter fails with the error... "Error while Filtering Selected Messages. Cannot get folder 'INBOX/whatever/foo': folder does not exist." Even though the folder does exist. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a message filter and try to manually run the message filter. 2. Create a message filter and try to auto run the message filter 3. Create a message filter and try to manually run the message filter with syncing the imap folders offline/locally. Actual results: Fails with the message listed above. Expected results: That the messages in question would move into the folder specified in the filter. Does this happen every time? No. Seems to happen on filters that have multiple nested folders (i.e. INBOX/Mailing Lists/Ubutnu/Ubuntu Members). Other information:

I believe this was rather because of bug #552583. The time frame approximately matches, thus marking as a duplicate. When you open the filter rule edit dialog, is beside the "Move to folder" shown "INBOX/whatever/foo" or "account_name@INBOX/whatever/foo"? if the former, then it's the bug #552583, it looks for a local folder instead. If the later, then it's correct and the rule should work fine, with respect of folder opening. Please reopen if I'm wrong. Thanks in advance. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 552583 ***
