GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 564204
Evolution Mail and Calendar: After a recent update Ev...
Last modified: 2009-04-07 04:59:23 UTC
After a recent update Evolution has become ridiculously slow. I have been using it through several Ubuntu distributions for the past year and it is now slower than it has ever been. Both my email accounts are POP one is gmail the other is for work. I have recently updated my hardware but if my memory serves the sluggishness began after a recent update. It seems to occur when "storing folder" comes up at the bottom after any change to the folder i.e. send or deleting a message. System: Ubuntu 8.10 Kernal Linux 2.6.27-9generic Gnome 2.24.1 Memory 2GB Processor Intel E8500 Video:512MB Distribution: Ubuntu 8.10 (intrepid) Gnome Release: 2.24.1 2008-10-24 (Ubuntu) BugBuddy Version: 2.24.1
Could reporter please say whether bug #548826 and/or bug #554840 describe the "sluggishness"?
No neither of those bugs accurately describe what I am experiencing. The sluggishness seems to occur whenever the "storing folder" notification comes up. It is especially noticeable when right clicking a previously sent message and clicking "edit as new message." In that situation the new window takes anywhere between 10 and 30 seconds just to pop up. The problem seems to be exacerbated after I have been emailing for a awhile.
Problem should be reduced with fix in bug 568332, can you please try current stable 2.24.4 , thanks.
