Description Hammer Attila 2008-11-26 07:48:44 UTC
Dear developers!

When the blind user tryed setting up speech rate, pitch and volume in Orca preferences GUI/speech page and using gnome-speech driver with Espeak, the slider values spoken correctly, but the speech rate, pitch and volume does'nt changing on the fly, only changing when reloaded the Orca preferences with apply or Ok button. Now usest method it is very difficult my openion, because beginner blind user doesn't known for example speech rate 70 what rate realy speech, speetch pitch 2.0 what speetch pitch etc. I don't known possible doing my suggestion, because Orca using gnome-speech driver officialy, but possible using speech-dispatcher, and external synths (different rates, pitch etc). Gnome-speech driver using Espeak natively, possible doing my suggestion only gnome-speech driver? I don't try speech-dispatcher, I don't known change this values Orca preference GUI this values on the fly.

Thanks,

Attila
