2) Press Ctrl-Insert
3) Press Shift-Insert in e.g. Mousepad window.
I expect the formerly selected text to be pasted there, but it is not.

I expect Ctrl-Insert to work as a text copy keybinding like in e.g. Firefox"

It seems this has been fixed in a while.  If you still can reproduce this bug with Evince 3.4.0 or higher, please feel free to re-open the bug and adding more information.
