Description Derek White 2008-11-18 03:46:13 UTC
Please describe the problem:
From: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/298536

Setup an appointment a few days ago.
It went off this morning, then again 2 more times because of the alarms/etc.
When I got up a few minutes ago (several hours after the alarms went off), and unlocked my computer (it wasn't asleep, just monitor off), I clicked the systray icon and the dialog was as seen in the attached screen shot.
I could click on all three 'rows' of titles, but the actual text was not there.

My previous alarm, which went off this past Tuesday, showed up just fine.
This was the second appointment I have ever used on 8.10.

When I click on the time/date to bring up the calendar/appt/locations, the appointment shows up just fine. It also shows up fine in Evolution.

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10
ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/evolution
Package: evolution 2.24.1-0ubuntu2
ProcEnviron:
 PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games
 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: evolution
Uname: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic i686

Steps to reproduce:
Has only happened once.

Actual results:

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?
Have not tried to duplicate; however, subsequent appointments have shown up fine.

Other information:
See attached picture on launchpad bug.

The bug resurfaced again.

I took that same appointment, changed the date to a week ahead (Nov. 22nd) and when it came up, the title was missing again on the systray dialog box. It must have to do with the title: "AT&T Testing Session".

I must conclude that the '&' is the culprit. Can someone please verify this?

Derek:
Can you please check again whether this issue still happens in Evolution 3.0.3
or 3.2.2 and update this report by adding a comment and changing the "Version"
field and provide information about your distribution? Asking as notification systems both in Ubuntu and in upstream GNOME have changed drastically since the problem was reported. Thanks a lot.

Sorry, I have not used Evolution since mid-2009. I don't even have it installed any more.

Closing as incomplete.
