This is probably a duplicate of Bug 415714. Which version of poppler is evince using? (You can find this from Help -> About in Evince). If it's anything before 0.8.4, then you definitely need to upgrade that. That fixes most of the cases we've found so far. If you can reproduce this consistently with poppler >= 0.8.4 then can we have the URL to the document that you're trying to access please! Thanks! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 415714 ***
I am using poppler 0.8.7 (cairo) URL is http://www2.rohde-schwarz.com/file/SFE_dat-sw_en.pdf HOWEVER I can't reproduce the crash
