Description Alexander Sack 2008-11-05 16:25:25 UTC
from: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288923

VPNC provides support for entering the group password in an hashed way. My university won't tell me the real key, but vpnc on the command line works with the hashed one (the option is called "IPSec obfuscated secret"). It would be nice, if network manager's UI provided either a switch to toggle treating the password as an obfuscated one (preferred) or there should be a second input area for the obfuscated password.

The import option will now decrypt the group password, which provides this functionality. Having UI for clear/unobfustcated is ugly and just creates confusion.
