GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 558889
Middle-click a tab to close it
Last modified: 2013-12-19 22:10:45 UTC
In Firefox, middle-clicking a tab closes it. Nautilus should match this functionality.

I don't think so. No tabbed GNOME app does this destructive behaviour on a single click on a region that's not a button clearly marked as destructive. Other GNOME apps have also rejected this behaviour; e.g. gnome-terminal (bug 458059) and epiphany (bug 319503, plus a few dups).
I'm inclined to agree with chpe on this. Doesn't make a lot of sense to differ from the rest of GNOME here, especially if even Epiphany isn't doing this.
Okay. That makes sense. Thanks for researching it, Christian.
I think that doing something is better than doing nothing. Close the tab as I say is an improvement to the user, since he can close tabs faster since he does not necessarily click on the small "close" icon.
