Description Nicolas 2008-10-26 16:00:40 UTC
Hello,
[I'm not sure of posting this feature request in the proper package (gnome-destop)].

It would be great having a centralized system to control notification popups (little yellow popups). Because some software don't propose to enabled/disabled this feature and this is really irritating. I think nm-applet for instance.

Having this feature controlled by one centralized system could be really beneficial for end-user to customize the desktop to his taste.

I'v already dreamed such a feature before seeing that it was created in KDE 4.x :)

-> gnome-shell, as it's the one showing the notifications these days.

... and gnome-control-center for the UI of course ;-)
Comment 3 Carlos Soriano 2012-09-30 17:45:30 UTC
This is fixed with the "Notifications" option of the user menu in the top panel, isn't it? So we have to close the bug as fixed
Comment 4 Jasper St. Pierre (not reading bugmail) 2012-09-30 18:54:20 UTC
No. He wants a panel in the Control Center to enable/disable notifications for apps individually.
Comment 5 Matthias Clasen 2012-09-30 23:45:40 UTC
This has in fact been discussed as desirable in connection with the new lock screen. See https://live.gnome.org/Design/SystemSettings/Notifications
Comment 6 Florian Müllner 2012-10-16 22:08:09 UTC
This is on the feature list for 3.8, see bug 685926.
