GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 555928
Missing Exchange explanation: e-e must be installed && plugin enabled
Last modified: 2011-08-24 13:37:21 UTC
The manual misses a hint that 1) evolution-exchange must be installed and 2) the "Exchange Operations" (what a $%#@! name) plugin must be enabled and Evo must be restarted to be able to add an Exchange account. This leads to bug reports like bug 555864. I just tried to reproduce on F9 and I ran into exactly the same issue when just following the user docs.
In my view, bug is obsolete now as we have removed some of the plugins from UI so by default, they will be enabled and exchange plugin is also among them.
What does that exactly mean? I don't have e-e installed but the plugin will be loaded and waste my memory, or is it a bit more intelligent? ;-)
Akhil: Can you please answer my last question?
Exchange plugin will be enabled in plugin list but it doesn't mean that exchange rpms will be installed by default, it's intelligent enough so no chance of wasting your memory.

Andre, shall we close the bug ?
I am closing this as OBSOLETE we killed the traditional user manual in favor of a topic-based, Mallard formatted one in Evolution version 3.1.5/3.1.90.
