GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 555580
Changing selected theme initially creates random list instead
Last modified: 2010-06-04 20:53:09 UTC
Please describe the problem: Changing default theme in gdmsetup with "Selected only" set causes it to change to "Random from selected". Steps to reproduce: 1. After initial installation (Ubuntu), run gdmsetup and select a different theme, "Happy GNOME with Browser" instead of the default "Human". 2. Logout so gdm reloads. 3. gdm theme is usually different than what was expected at this point depending on what theme was selected. 4. Login and run gdmsetup again. Actual results: Running gdmsetup again shows that the "Theme" setting has changed from "Selected only" to "Random from selected". With Ubuntu's default install this usually means "Happy GNOME" and "Circles". Expected results: Theme selection setting should remain at "Selected only". Does this happen every time? It appears to only happen with the initial change. Once fixed, it retains the setting. Other information: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/122213
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use. By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME. Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
